There are three clear stages. We establish The Story, then draw up The Plans, and then move on to The Build.

The whole process is about creative collaboration, diligent planning and systematic construction. This Deliberate approach is what makes the difference between producing a great website over a mediocre website.

Stage 1: The Story.

  • Your finished website needs to tell your story in a captivating way that resonates and motivates your target audience.
  • This first stage is about creating ‘solid foundations’ for The Build. It’s a series of creative questions and answers that will make you think about your business differently. Importantly, it also allows me to get to know your business in detail.
  • We find ‘the headline’ which is the single, clear centrally organising point for the business, and therefore for the new website too. We also identify the best structure and language to tell your story.

Stage 2: The Plans.

  • Next, we draw up The Plans which consist of: layouts, specifications, web strategy, timings and costings.
  • We use your story to determine the architecture of your website, creating wire-frame layouts of all relevant pages and sections. The aim is to take your audience on a journey through The Story, guiding them to act in-line with your business goals.
  • Competitor analysis, social media, search engine and wider web strategy are also included in The Plans.
  • Along with visual layouts you get a comprehensive Project Specification with associated timescales and costs (download an example specification).

Stage 3: The Build.

  • When The Plans are approved we enter the final stage of the project with clarity and confidence.
  • Where necessary a copywriter is hired to write clear, lyrical and search engine friendly words to express your story in the most compelling and digestible way.
  • The most suitable graphic designer is then engaged to turn the wire-frames into fully-fledged designs to apply colour, accenting, typography, spacing and imagery.
  • The Build phase is about diligent and systematic construction. The finished website will be technically elegant too; it will contain the most cutting edge, high performance and search engine friendly technologies available.
