Devlin Photos - Innovative award winning photography

Client
Lisa Devlin
Outcome
One very happy client in possession of a highly innovative, cutting edge website.

Lisa came to me with a concept she’d already run by several developers, only to be told that it couldn’t be done. I took one look and decided I’d relish the challenge.

Most sites break down into columns. This one respects both a vertical and horizontal rhythm, meaning it always presents in a 3×5 grid that beautifully showcases Lisa’s photos.

It adapts to any screen size and aspect ratio too, so it shows up just as clearly on an iPhone as it does on a 48-inch plasma.

With this in mind they contracted me to wrap Andrew’s attractive, multiple layout design around a WordPress theme that was able to effectively handle HACT’s elaborate data structure.

Agency
Dobit

Star Communities
Outcome
Pixel-perfect front-end code (the bits you can see) built with the back-end developers (the coders who built the bits you can't see) firmly in mind.

Overrun with work Paul from Dobit called me to ask if I could quickly code the front-end (the bit’s you can see) of a new website for Star Communities, a Brighton based community organisation dedicated to promoting well being events.

Working closely with Paul I was able to turn Richard Wolfströme’s original designs into pixel perfect front-end code. This code was then handed back to Dobit’s in-house development team who promptly wrapped it around a WordPress back-end system (the bits you can’t see).

A fresh, one page website matching an exceptionally precise design brief.

At first glance, this site may look simple, but appearances can be deceptive. The brief I was given read, essentially: “can you make it look exactly like this?”

Leif’s contact form is handled by the ‘Contact Form 7′ WordPress plugin, which needed just a little tweaking from me so that it would behave in exactly the way Leif wanted it to.
